Adding life to years: How India can make ageing healthier—and happier

Living longer is one thing—living longer and fully and with verve is another. Globally, according to the McKinsey Health Institute (MHI), today’s average elderly person will live 10 years in medium or poor health. The issue is not as pressing for India as for other countries, including China and Japan, that are getting much older, much faster. But the trend is clear, and India’s relative youth means it has more time to adjust.
