Between 2010 and 2019, cancer rates in India have gone up, followed by a rise in the average deaths attributed to the disease; the number of new cancer cases recorded annually, called the crude incidence rate, increased 28.2% from 63.4 per 100,000 in 1990 to 81.2 per 100,000 in 2016 according to this study.
