Study finds 85% docs surveyed to be obese

Doctors in Kerala are more likely to be obese than the general population, and obesity is a predictor of health issues like obesity-related noncommunicable diseases. To address this problem, the community medicine department of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College conducted a study among 240 doctors working in south Kerala. The study found that out of the 240 study participants, 114 were either overweight or obese, and a low level of physical activity was reported among 55 of the doctors.
